Trina Solar started construction of 29 MW solar project in Japan


Trina Solar Co., Ltd., a global leading solar energy total solution provider, announced it has established a partnership with Thailand’s Banpu Power Public Company Limited to construct a 29 MW utility-scale solar project in Japan. Trina Solar Japan Energy Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trina Solar, is in charge of the development, engineering, procurement and management of this project.

The project which is located in Kurokawa District of northeastern Japan’s Miyagi Prefecture will be entirely using Trina Solar modules. It is expected to be put into operation in the summer of 2019. The clean electricity generated by the project will be sold to regional utility Tohoku Electric Power Co. and can serve the needs of about 10,000 Japanese households.
